Metoclopramide HCl
Indications/Uses
Antiemetic, nausea & vomiting, regulate peristaltic movement of GIT.
Dosage/Direction for Use
½-1 tab or 1 amp at a time.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
Whenever stimulation of Gl motility might be dangerous eg, intestinal obstruction, phaeochromocytoma, epilepsy.
Special Precautions
Childn & young patients. Pregnancy & lactation. Diabetes, depression, patients taking other drugs that can also cause extrapyramidal reactions.
Adverse Reactions
Extrapyramidal reactions, dizziness, fatigue, drowsiness, headache, depression, restlessness, GI disturbances, HTN.

Drug Interactions
Effects antagonised by anticholinergics & narcotic analgesics. Increased sedation w/ CNS depressants. May impair absorption of digoxin, cimetidine & increase absorption of paracetamol, tetracyclines, levodopa. May alter insulin requirement.
