Menotrophin corresponding to FSH 75 IU & LH 75 IU
Indications/Uses
Stimulation of follicle growth in female w/ hypo- or normogonadotrophic ovarian insufficiency. In combination w/ HCG to stimulate spermatogenesis in male w/ hypo- or normogonadotrophic hypogonadism.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Female Initiate therapy w/ a daily dose corresponding to 75-150 IU FSH, may be increased until preovulatory estradiol serum is attained. Male Initially 3 x 1,000 & 3,000 IU HCG a wk then 3 x (75-150 IU FSH + 75-150 IU LH)/wk. By IM/SC inj.
Contraindications
Female Pregnancy; enlargement of ovaries or cysts that is not caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome; gynaecological bleeding of unknown cause; uterine, ovarian & breast tumours. Male Prostatic carcinoma, testicular tumour.
Special Precautions
Do not administer to induce ovulation in females whose ovaries have unintentionally been hyperstimulated.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, hypersensitivity reactions, fever, reactions at inj site, ovarian hyperstimulation leading to formation of ovarian cyst & intra-abdominal bleeding, ascites, hydrothorax, oliguria, hypotension, thromboembolism.

G03GA02 - human menopausal gonadotrophin ; Belongs to the class of gonadotropins. Used as ovulation stimulants.
