Isosorbide-5-mononitrate
Indications/Uses
Long-term treatment of CHD, prophylaxis of angina pectoris, pulmonary HTN, heart failure, concomitantly treated w/ glycosides &/or diuretics.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Monolin tab
20-40 mg bid-tid.
Monolin SR 20 mg cap
1 cap bid,
Monolin SR 60 mg cap
1 cap once daily.
Administration
SR cap: May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush. Tab: Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Acute MI w/ low filling pressures, acute circulatory failure, very low BP. Avoid sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
Special Precautions
1st trimester of pregnancy. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, nausea.

Effects may be enhanced by alcohol, antihypertensives, sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
