Indications/Uses
Mucolytic in acute & chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis or emphysema. As adjunctive therapy in otitis, sinusitis, nasopharyngitis, tubal otorrhea & in reduction of hypersecretion prior to surgery.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab Adult 2 tab tid. May be reduced to 1 tab tid. Syr Adult 15 mL tid. Childn 5-12 yr 1 tsp tid, 2-5 yr ¼-½ tsp qid, 2 mth to 2 yr 20-30 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Presence of active peptic ulcer.
Adverse Reactions
Mild GI symptoms & nausea.
