Each milliliter of OcuFRESH DP contains 3 mg of hypromellose as active ingredient.
Pharmacology: Pharmacodynamics: Mechanism of action: Hypromellose increases corneal wetting by thickening and stabilizing the tear film and prolongs tear film breakdown time. It could relief dryness, lubricate and protect the eye(s).
The relation of dose and pharmacodynamic responses: No information.
Pharmacokinetics: Hypromellose is physiologically inert. It is a high molecular weight polymer and is not absorbed into ocular tissue. In additions, it is not metabolized in the anterior chamber of eye.
Toxicology: Mechanism of toxicity: No information.
OcuFRESH DP is used as artificial tear for the relief of dry eyes and eye irritation due to associated deficient tear production. It also acts as ocular lubricants for person with artificial eye(s).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult and adolescence (aged between 12-18 years) dosage: Instill 1 drop into affected eye(s), 3-4 times daily as needed.
Dosage in person with hepatic/renal impairment: No information available.
Mode of Administration: Administration: Wash the hands.
OcuFRESH DP produces no effect on contact lens so it is unnecessary to remove contact lens before applying drug.
Tilt head up.
With index finger, pull down the lower lid to form a pocket.
Look up then instill 1 drop of OcuFRESH DP into a pocket made between eye ball and a low eyelid. Carefully, do not allow a tip of dropper to touch any parts of eye(s).
Gently close eye and press the inner corner of eye for 1 minute. Do not blink.
Blot excessive solution around the eye(s).
Do not rinse or wipe the tip of dropper, including do not allow it to touch any surface.
After usage, put a cap on the bottle right away and keep the bottle upright.
If more than 1 eye drops are needed, wait for at least 5 minutes before instillation of the next eye drop.
If eye drop and eye ointment are needed, instill eye drop at least 10 minutes before applying eye ointment.
Do not apply OcuFRESH DP eye drop in patient with hypersensitivity to hypromellose or other components of this product.
Special Precautions
Carefully, do not allow the tip of dropper to touch any surface.
OcuFRESH DP may produce mild stinging or temporary blurred vision.
During drug administration, if headache, eye pain, vision changes, continued redness, or eye irritation, or worsen condition or persistent condition longer than 3 days happen, it is advisory to discontinue use and consult physician.
As an ocular lubricant, self-prescribed use should not exceed continually 3 days.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: Hypromellose is classified in US pregnancy category C (all trimesters). The US pregnancy category C is defined as either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic, embryocidal or others) and there are no well controlled studies in women or studies in woman and animals are not available. Drug should be used during pregnancy only when the potential benefits overcome the possible risks to the fetus. In additions, the evidence confirmed whether the drug could cross placenta is not available.
Lactation: Available evidence is inadequated for concluding the infant risks when drug is used during breast feeding. The drug should be used during feeding only when the potential benefits overcome the possible risks to the infants.
Adverse Reactions
Hypromellose eye drop may procedure undesirable effects such as changes in vision, eye pain, redness, eye irritation, stinging or burning. In additions, allergic reactions occur such as itching, swelling in face, hands, mouth or throat, chest tightness, troubled breath.
Drug Interactions
Vancomycin is compatible with 0.3% Hypromellose solution. Vancomycin solution with the final concentration of 31 milligram/milliliter in hypromellose is stable for 45, 10 and 7 days when kept at -10, 4 and 25℃, respectively in original container of hypromellose.
Do not store above 30°C.
After usage, close bottle immediately and keep the bottle upright.
Never share the drug with others.
Do not use after the expiration date on label or if the opened bottle is kept longer than 4 weeks or the drug solution appears as turbidity or color changes.
