Dosage/Direction for Use
Prevention of chemotherapy & radiotherapy-induced nausea & vomiting IV Adult & childn 6 mth to 18 yr 0.15 mg/kg/dose tid beginning 30 min prior to chemotherapy, 4 & 8 hr after 1st dose. Max dose: 16 mg/dose. Post-op nausea & vomiting (PONV) IM/IV Adult 4 mg as a single dose (over 2-5 min, if given IV) approx 30 min before the end of anesth or as treatment if vomiting occurs after surgery. Childn 1 mth to 12 yr ≤40 kg 0.1 mg/kg as a single dose over 2-5 min; >40 kg 4 mg as a single dose over 2-5 min. Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh C) Max: 8 mg daily IV as single dose.
Special Precautions
Moderate to severe liver impairment. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, sensation of flushing or warmth in the head & epigastrium, constipation.
