Timolol maleate
Indications/Uses
Reduction of elevated IOP in ocular HTN or chronic open-angle glaucoma.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially 1 drop in the affected eye(s) bid.
Contraindications
Bronchial asthma, severe COPD, sinus bradycardia; 2nd & 3rd degree AV block; overt cardiac failure; cardiogenic shock.
Special Precautions
History of severe cardiac disease. Resp & cardiac reactions, choroidal detachment after filtration procedures. Remove contact lenses prior to & until 15 min after application. Pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Ocular irritation, visual disturbances, CV effects, bronchospasm, resp failure, dyspnea, cough; headache, asthenia, fatigue, chest pain, alopecia, psoriasiform rash or exacerbation of psoriasis, allergic reactions, dizziness, depression, insomnia, nightmares, memory loss, increased signs & symptoms of myasthenia gravis, paresthesia, nausea, diarrhea, dyspepsia, dry mouth, decreased libido, Peyronie's disease, SLE.
Drug Interactions
Epinephrine, oral Ca channel blocker, catecholamine-depleting drugs, β-adrenergic agents, digitalis.

S01ED01 - timolol ; Belongs to the class of beta blocking agents. Used in the treatment of glaucoma.
