Oxytetracycline HCl
Indications/Uses
Resp infections, UTI & gonorrhea.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap 1-2 cap qid. Inj Individualised dosage.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ severe renal impairment. Pregnancy. Growing childn.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ liver impairment or myasthenia gravis. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI distress, superinfections, hepatic & renal toxicity. Rarely, haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, increased cranial pressure. May exacerbate SLE.
Drug Interactions
Absorption reduced by antacids, milk. Hepatotoxic drugs. May interfere w/ the actions of penicillins.
