Indications/Uses
Panadol 0-2 Mild to moderate pain including headache, fever & pain after vaccination, pain after dental procedures/tooth extraction, toothache; relief of fever. Panadol 6-12/Panadol 6-6 Analgesic & antipyretic.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Panadol 0.2 susp Dose based on wt: 10-15 mg/kg/dose. Max: 60 mg/kg. Childn 1-2 yr 1.2-1.8 mL; 6-12 mth 0.6-1.2 mL; 0-6 mth 0.3-0.6 mL. Max: 4 doses in 24 hr for 3 days. All doses are to be taken 4-6 hrly. Panadol 6-12 susp Adult & childn >12 yr 2-4 tsp, may be repeated 4 hrly to a max of 4 g/day. Childn 6-12 yr 1-2 tsp, 1-6 yr ½-1 tsp, 3 mth to 1 yr Use ped susp. Max: 4 doses in 24 hr. Doses to be taken up to qid at 4-hr intervals or more between each dose. Panadol 6-6 susp Childn 6-12 yr 2-4 tsp, 1-6 yr 1-2 tsp, 3 mth to 1 yr ½-1 tsp.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Avoid concomitant use w/ other paracetamol-containing products. Do not use >5 days. Severe hepatic or renal dysfunction.
Adverse Reactions
Skin rash, itching, breathing problems; swelling of the lips, tongue, throat or face; skin rash/peeling, mouth ulcers; breathing problems w/ aspirin or NSAID, unexplained bruising or bleeding.
Drug Interactions
Panadol 0-2 Increased effect of warfarin & other coumarins. Panadol 6-12/Panadol 6-6 Barbiturates, TCAs & alcohol. Liver enzyme inducers.
