Contents
Pemirolast potassium.
Description
Each mL contains pemirolast potassium 1 mg.
It also contains the following excipients: Concentrated glycerin and benzalkonium chloride.
Pemirox ophthalmic solution is a clear, colorless and sterile aqueous solution. It has a pH of 7.5-8.5 and an osmotic pressure ratio of 0.7-0.9.
Action
Pemirolast potassium is an antiallergic agent originally developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb in the United States, and possesses a strong inhibitory effect on the release of chemical mediators. Clinically, its usefulness has been demonstrated against allergic conjunctivitis and spring catarrhalis by twice daily instillation.
Indications/Uses
For the treatment of ocular allergies (allergic conjunctivitis and spring catarrhalis).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop twice daily (morning and evening).
Special Precautions
For ophthalmic use only.
The tip of the bottle must not come into contact with the eyes.
Use in pregnancy: Since the safety of pemirolast during pregnancy has not been established, Pemirox should be given to pregnant women or women suspected of being pregnant only if the expected therapeutic benefits are judged to outweigh any possible risks.
Use in children: The safety of Pemirox in prematures, newborns and infants has not been established (no experience for use).

Adverse Reactions
If the following adverse reactions are observed, appropriate measures eg, discontinuing administration should be taken.
Hypersensitivity: (≥0.1% to <5%) Blepharitis. (<0.1%) Eyelid dermatitis.
Opthalmic: (≥0.1% to <5%) Conjunctival injection, irritation, eye discharge, itching. (<0.1%) Conjunctivitis.
Storage
Store below 30°C.
