Piroxicam
Indications/Uses
RA, OA, ankylosing spondylitis & acute gout.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Rheumatoid disorders 20 mg after meals. Acute gout 40 mg daily for 5-7 days.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals.
Contraindications
Aspirin sensitivity. History of GI hemorrhage or ulcers.
Special Precautions
Impaired renal function. CV disorders. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances & bleeding, peptic ulceration. Headache, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, skin rashes, pruritus & edema.
Drug Interactions
Aspirin, lithium, warfarin.
