Paracetamol
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of fever, mild to moderate pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Susp Childn 6-12 yr 5-10 mL, 1-5 yr 2.5-5 mL. To be taken 4 hrly. Max: 4 doses daily for max 3 days. Supp Childn 6-12 yr 1-2 supp of 250 mg, 2-6 yr 1 supp of 125 mg or 250 mg, 1-2 yr 1 supp of 125 mg. To be inserted deep into rectum 4 hrly as needed. Max: qid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, haematological reactions, rash, allergic reactions.
Drug Interactions
Oral anticoagulants, aspirin.
