Indications/Uses
K deficiency.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1-3 g daily by slow IV.
Contraindications
Hyperkalemia, severe renal failure, untreated Addison's disease, GI ulceration or obstruction.
Special Precautions
Renal or adrenal insufficiency; cardiac disease; acute dehydration; heat cramps.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, hyperkalemia.
Drug Interactions
K-sparing diuretics. Increase serum K, decrease toxicity & effectiveness of cardiac glycosides.
