Steroid-responsive inflammation of the palpebral & bulbar conjunctiva, cornea & anterior segment of the globe.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac bid-qid. May be increased to 2 drops hrly during the initial 24-48 hr.
Acute untreated purulent ocular infections, acute superficial herpes simplex (dendritic keratitis), vaccinia, varicella & most other viral diseases of the cornea & conjunctiva, ocular TB & fungal diseases of the eye.
Diseases causing thinning of cornea. Avoid prolonged use. Acute purulent eye infections. History of herpes simplex. Fungal infection of the cornea. May cause glaucoma. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <2 yr.
Increased IOP w/ optic nerve damage, visual field defects, posterior subcapsular cataract formation, secondary ocular infections from fungi or viruses liberated from ocular tissues & perforation of the globe when there is corneal or scleral thinning, delayed wound healing. Systemic side effects may occur w/ extensive use.
