Indications/Uses

Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & elderly Active duodenal ulcer 10-20 mg once daily in the morning for 4-8 wk. Active benign gastric ulcer 10-20 mg once daily for 6-12 wk. Erosive or ulcerative GERD 10-20 mg once daily for 4-8 wk. GERD Maintenance: 10-20 mg once daily. Symptomatic GERD Patients w/o esophagitis 10 mg once daily. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome Individualized dosage. Initially 60 mg once daily. Doses up to 100 mg daily or 60 mg bid. Some patients may require divided doses. H. pylori eradication 20 mg bid + clarithromycin 500 mg & amoxicillin 1 g bid for 7 days.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Exclude gastric or esophageal malignancy prior to commencing treatment. Long-term treatment. Osteoporosis. Severe hepatic dysfunction. Hypomagnesemia. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, diarrhea, abdominal pain, asthenia, flatulence, rash & dry mouth.
Drug Interactions
Decreases ketoconazole or itraconazole plasma levels.

A02BC04 - rabeprazole ; Belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors. Used in the treatment of peptic ulcer and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
