Emtricitabine 200 mg, tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300 mg
Indications/Uses
HIV-1 infection.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 tab once daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Moderate or severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function. Avoid concomitant nephrotoxic drugs. Antiretroviral-experienced patients harbouring K65R mutation strains. Decrease in bone mineral density. Co-infection w/ hepatitis B or C. Risk factors for liver disease & hepatic steatosis. Lipodystrophy. Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, glucose-galactose malabsorption. Childn <18 yr. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Neutropenia, allergic reaction, hypophosphataemia, hypertriglyceridaemia, hyperglycaemia, abnormal dreams, insomnia, dizziness, headache, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, elevated serum lipase & amylase, hyperbilirubinaemia, increased transaminases, skin & SC tissue disorders, elevated creatine kinase, pain, asthenia.
Drug Interactions
Lamivudine, zalcitabine, cidofovir, didanosine, atazanavir.
