Piroxicam
Indications/Uses
Relief of pain & inflammation in OA, RA, acute musculoskeletal disorders, joints, muscles, ligaments & tendons.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap 10-20 mg daily. Topical Gel Apply to the affected area tid-qid.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Cap: Aspirin sensitivity. History of GI hemorrhage or ulcers. Topical Gel: Hypersensitivity. Patients in whom aspirin or other NSAIDs induce symptom of asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or urticaria.
Special Precautions
Cap: Impaired renal function, CV disorders, elderly. Topical Gel: Avoid contact w/ eyes, mucosa & skin lesion.
Adverse Reactions
Cap: GI disturbances, ankle edema, malaise, tinnitus; skin rash, pruritus, anemia. Topical Gel: Rash, pruritus.
Drug Interactions
Cap: Aspirin, lithium, warfarin.

M02AA07 - piroxicam ; Belongs to the class of non-steroidal antiinflammatory preparations for topical use. Used in the treatment of joint and muscular pains.
