Dosage/Direction for Use
CHD 10-20 mg/day in the evening. Hyperlipidemia 10 mg/day in the evening. Mild to moderate hypercholesterolemia Initially 5 mg, max: 80 mg/day. All doses to be taken as a single dose in the evening.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations in serum transaminases.
Adverse Reactions
Abdominal pain, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, rash, pruritus, alopecia, dizziness, muscle cramps, myalgia, pancreatitis, paresthesia, peripheral neuropathy, anemia.
Drug Interactions
Gemfibrozil & other fibrates, niacin, cyclosporin, itraconazole, ketoconazole, erythromycin, clarithromycin, HIV PIs, nefazodone, amiodarone, verapamil.

C10AA01 - simvastatin ; Belongs to the class of HMG CoA reductase inhibitors. Used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia.
