Concise Prescribing Info
Inactivated quadrivalent sub-unit influenza vaccine [(surface antigens, (hemagglutinin & neuraminidase)]
Active immunization for prevention of flu disease caused by flu virus subtypes A & B for adult & childn ≥3 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IM Childn ≥9 yr 0.5 mL as single inj, 3-8 yr 0.5 mL as single inj. Childn <9 yr not previously vaccinated or infected 2nd dose should be given after at least 4-wk interval.
Hypersensitivity to vaccine or formalin. History of severe hypersensitivity reaction &/or convulsive symptom to previous flu vaccination; Guillain-Barré syndrome, or other neurological disorders w/in 6 wk of previous flu vaccination; anaphylaxis reaction; suspected allergic reaction eg, systemic rash. Febrile disease or acute infection. Fever. Acute, exacerbated or active CV, renal or hepatic disease. Acute resp disease or other active infection.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ bleeding disorder eg, hemophilia & thrombocytopenia. Patients on anticoagulant therapy. Women of childbearing potential.
Adverse Reactions
Inj site tenderness, pain, erythema/redness, induration/swelling. Myalgia, fatigue/malaise, headache, diarrhea, & vomiting.
Drug Interactions
Immunological response may be affected w/ immunosuppressive therapy or immunodeficiency.
