Salbutamol
Indications/Uses
Acute attacks of allergic-induced asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema & other bronchopulmonary disorder in which bronchospasm is a complicating factor.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Sulbuta-N 5 mg Intermittent qid Adult 0.5-1 mL diluted (w/ NSS for inj) to a vol of 2-2.5 mL. Childn <12 yr 0.5 mL diluted to a vol of 2-2.5 mL. Continuous 1-2 mL diluted to a vol of 100 mL, administered as 1-2 mg/hr. Sulbuta-N 2.5 mg Adult & childn 2.5-5 mg qid.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, pregnancy, lactation, CV disease.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, tremors, mouth & throat irritation, transient muscle cramps, HTN, peripheral vasodilation, bronchospasm. Large doses: Hypokalemia, hypersensitivity reactions including paradoxical bronchospasm, angioedema, urticaria, hypotension, collapse, bronchitis, cough, increase in sputum production, throat irritation, voice changes, hoarseness.
Drug Interactions
Non-K-sparing diuretics, digoxin, xanthine derivative, β-blocker, other sympathomimetics.

R03AC02 - salbutamol ; Belongs to the class of adrenergic inhalants, selective beta-2-adrenoreceptor agonists. Used in the treatment of obstructive airway diseases.
