Sulphadiazine
Indications/Uses
Infections due to susceptible organisms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initial dose: 3 g; subsequent doses up to 4 g daily in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides. Pregnancy & lactation, childn <2 mth.
Special Precautions
Renal & hepatic impairment. Severe allergy or bronchial asthma.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, nausea, vomiting, anorexia or diarrhea. Stevens-Johnson syndrome, blood dyscrasias.
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants, phenytoin, sulfonylureas, thiazide diuretics, indomethacin, probenecid.
