Indications/Uses
NIDDM.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Initially ½-1 tab daily then adjust by increments of ½-1 tab to reach optimum maintenance dose. Total daily dose ≥15 mg should be given in divided doses.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals.
Contraindications
IDDM, ketoacidosis, pre-coma or coma; impaired kidney or liver function, adrenal insufficiency, gangrene, severe trauma, major surgery, infection or febrile states.
Special Precautions
Elderly, debilitated patients, unusual physical exertion. Hypoglycemia, pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances, headache, allergic reactions, hypoglycemic episodes.
Drug Interactions
Oral anticoagulants, MAOIs, sulfonamides, phenylbutazone, chloramphenicol.
