Tramadol HCl
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of moderate to severe acute or chronic pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn >12 yr Usual dose: 1-2 cap 4-6 hrly. Total daily dose should not exceed 400 mg (8 cap).
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Acute intoxication w/ alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics or other CNS-acting drugs.
Special Precautions
Hepatic & severe renal impairment; history of epilepsy.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sweating, dry mouth & fatigue.
Drug Interactions
MAOIs. May intensify sedative effect on concomitant administration w/ substances which also act on CNS (eg, tranquilizers, hypnotics). Increased risk of seizures when used w/ other seizure threshold lowering drugs.
