Nystatin
Indications/Uses
Candidal infection of the oral cavity.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn 1-6 mL qid. Infant 1 mL qid. Dosages should be continued for 48 hr after lesions have resolved.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Swish & hold in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Do not eat/drink for at least 1 hr after a dose.
Special Precautions
Should not be used for systemic infection. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances. Can temporarily affect the sense of taste thus decrease appetite. Oral irritation or sensitisation. Rashes including urticaria.
