Pantoprazole
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & gastric ulcer, moderate to severe reflux esophagitis, hypersecretory disorders associated w/ Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV/IV infusion Duodenal & gastric ulcer, moderate to severe reflux esophagitis 40 mg once daily for 7-10 days. Hypersecretory disorders 80 mg every 12 hr.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to pantoprazole or other substituted benzimidazoles.
Special Precautions
Liver impairment. Patients w/ Na restriction. Vit B12 deficiency may occur.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, rash, depression, abnormal liver function test, upper resp infection, fever.
Drug Interactions
Atazanavir, dasatinib, indinavir, Fe salt, itraconazole, ketoconazole, aminoglutethimide, carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampin, bosentan, dapsone, fluoxetine, glimepiride, glipizide, losartan, montelukast, nateglinide, paclitaxel, phenytoin, warfarin, zafirlukast.
