Cefaclor
Indications/Uses
Otitis media, upper resp tract infections, UTI, skin & skin structure infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Childn 20 mg/kg/day in divided doses 8 hrly. Serious infections 40 mg/kg/day up to max of 1 g/day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins.
Special Precautions
Penicillin-sensitive patients. Pregnancy, lactation, childn <1 mth.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions, GI disturbances, eosinophilia, thrombocytopenia, genital pruritus, vaginitis, slight elevation in BUN, SGOT, SGPT, pseudomembranous colitis.
