Ciprofloxacin
Indications/Uses
Resp tract infection, middle ear, eyes, kidney, genital organs, pneumonia, middle ear & abdominal cavity infections.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Resp tract infection, complicated UTI 250-500 mg bid. Other severe infections 500 mg bid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to minimise GI discomfort. Do not take w/ antacids, Fe or dairy products.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Epilepsy, CNS damage.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, diarrhea, digestive disorders, abdominal pain, dizziness, headache, skin reactions.
Drug Interactions
Antacid may impair absorption. Probenecid reduces excretion. May increase theophylline plasma levels. May potentiate effects of oral anticoagulants.
