Moxifloxacin HCl
Indications/Uses
Corneal epithelial inflammation or corneal ulcer. Pre- & post-op sterilization. Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of organisms.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye tid for 4 days. Corneal epithelial inflammation/corneal ulcer 1 drop in the affected eye tid for 7-14 days, may be increased up to 8 times/day. Pre- & post-op sterilization Instill 1 drop in the affected eye 5 times/day, 2 days pre-op & tid from day 1 to after 14 days of surgery.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to other quinolones.
Special Precautions
Prolonged use may cause overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms. Discontinue if superinfection occurs. Avoid wearing contact lens. Pregnancy, lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Transient ocular discomfort (burning/stinging), headache, keratitis; ocular pain, pruritus & hyperemia; pharyngitis & subconjunctival hemorrhage.
