Full Prescribing Info
Contents
Disodium cromoglycate, benzalkonium chloride.
Description
1 ml contains disodium cromoglycate 20.0 mg, benzalkonium chloride 0.1 mg.
Action
Vividrin antiallergic eye drops contain sodium cromoglycate which prevents the occurrence of allergic manifestations by inhibiting the release of histamine. Sodium cromoglycate is poorly absorbed by the body and thus well tolerated. Therefore VIVIDRIN anti-allergic eye drops are suitable for long term treatment. Vividrin antiallergic eye drops should be used prophetically but are also effective when the allergy has already become manifest.
Indications/Uses
Allergic conjunctivitis (acute or chronic) e.g. hay fever conjunctivitis ([kerato-] conjunctivitis vernalis); non-specific conjunctival irritations probably caused by allergy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Unless otherwise prescribed, the dose for adults and children is 1 drop into each eye 4 times daily.
Even after symptoms have abated, patients should continue treatment with Vividrin antiallergic eye drops for as long as they are exposed to the offending allergen (pollen, house dust, fungus spores, etc.).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to benzalkonium chloride. Although there is no evidence of any embryotoxic effect, avoid, if possible, use of Vividrin antiallergic eye drops during the first three months of pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment with Vividrin antiallergic eye drops.
Side Effects
None.

As with other eye drops, discard one month after opening.
