Indications/Uses
Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible organisms in patients ≥1 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Day 1 & 2: Instill 1 drop 2 hrly in the affected eye(s) while awake up to 8 times daily. Day 3-7: Instill 1 drop up to qid while awake.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to gatifloxacin or other quinolones.
Special Precautions
Do not inj subconjunctivally or introduce directly into the anterior chamber of the eye. Avoid prolonged use. Remove contact lenses prior to administration. Pregnancy & lactation. Infant <1 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Conjunctival irritation, increased lacrimation, keratitis & papillary conjunctivitis.
Drug Interactions
Theophylline, caffeine; warfarin & its derivatives; cyclosporine.
