A 62-year-old homemaker, who never smoked, with no known famÂily history of cancer and good past health, presented in January 2024 with cough for 7 months post–COVID-19, progressive weight loss over 2 months, and recent-onset left chest pain. Chest X-ray (CXR) showed left pleural effusion, which was drained at a public hospital, with effusion cytology confirming lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR exon 20 insertion (ex20ins) by Sanger sequencing.
