Tổng quan
Osteoporosis is a progressive, systemic, skeletal disease characterized
by decreased bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration of bone
tissue leading to increased bone fragility and susceptibility to
fractures.
Osteoporosis is often asymptomatic until the patient presents with a fragility fracture.
Screening for osteoporosis is recommended for all postmenopausal women, men ≥50 years and adults with risk factors.
The choice of the drug will depend not only on its capacity to increase bone mineral density (BMD) but also on reducing spine and hip fracture.
For further information regarding the management of Osteoporosis in Women, please refer to Disease Algorithm for the Treatment Guideline.
