May exaggerate succinycholine-type muscle relaxation during anaesth. Patient w/ sick sinus syndrome or other supraventricular cardiac conduction conditions eg, SA or AV block; at increased risk for developing ulcers; w/ history of asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease; severe hepatic impairment. May cause bladder outflow obstruction. Has some potential to cause generalized convulsion. Has potential to exacerbate or induce extrapyramidal symptoms. Discontinue if patient develops symptoms indicative of neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Monitor for muscle pain, tenderness or weakness & darkened urine, particularly if accompanied by malaise or fever. Avoid concomitant use w/ acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, cholinergic system agonists or anatagonists. Rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Minor or moderate influence on the ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn & adolescents <18 yr.
