Indications/Uses
Progesterone supplementation or replacement in cases eg, treatment of infertile women & in vitro fertilization.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Insert intravaginally bd, initiated w/in several days of ovulation. Continue for 10-12 wk of gestation.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Undiagnosed vag bleeding, liver dysfunction or disease. Known or suspected malignancy of the breast or genital organs. Active thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders, or a history of hormone-associated thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders.
Special Precautions
Concomitant use w/ other local intravaginal therapy. Conditions which might be influenced by fluid retention eg, epilepsy, migraine, asthma, cardiac or renal dysfunction. History of psychic depression. Diabetes. Recurring sun-spots. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Changes in vag discharge, mild vaginitis, breast sensitivity, fluid retention, swelling of feet, wt changes, allergic reactions, itch, acne, skin spots, sleep disturbance, swelling of eyes, headaches, yellowing of skin or eyes, vag pain, groin pain, pain in calves or chest, sudden shortness of breath, hemoptysis, vomiting, dizziness, faintness, change in vision or speech, weakness or numbness, breast lumps. Risk of somnolence may occur.
