Contents
Paracetamol 500 mg, pseudoephedrine 30 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of headache, muscular ache, fever, sneezing, nasal congestion, itching & watery eyes, associated w/ flu, common colds & allergic rhinitis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & childn ≥ 12 yr 1-2 tab every 4-6 hr.
Administration
May be taken with or without food: Preferably taken after food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, HTN, CAD. Concomitant use w/ MAOIs or w/in 2 wk after stopping treatment.
Special Precautions
Drowsiness; avoid driving motor vehicles or operating machinery. Avoid alcohol intake. Renal & hepatic impairment, patients on antidepressant therapy, HTN, hyperthyroidism, cardiac disease, DM, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy. Concomitant use w/ MAOIs. Serious skin reactions.
Adverse Reactions
Sedation, CNS stimulation, GI disturbances, dry mouth, blurred vision, urinary retention, thickened resp tract secretions, chest tightness & constipation. Bradycardia, tachycardia, arrhythmias, HTN. Haematological reactions & cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions.
Drug Interactions
Sympathomimetic agent (eg, decongestants), TCA, appetite suppressants & amphetamine-like psychostimulants, MAOIs. Bretylium, bethanidine, guanethidine, methyldopa, α- & β-adrenergic blockers, debrisoquine.
ATC Classification
N02BE51 - paracetamol, combinations excl. psycholeptics ; Belongs to the class of anilide preparations. Used to relieve pain and fever.
