Per tab Vit B1 100 mg, vit B6 200 mg, vit B12 200 mcg
Indications/Uses
Neurological diseases caused by vit B deficiencies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab once daily, may be increased to 1 tab tds.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole w/ a little liqd, do not chew.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Childn & adolescents <18 yr.
Special Precautions
Monitor regularly during long-term use (eg, daily dose of vit B6 >50 mg for 6-12 mth) & short-term use (eg, daily dose of vit B6 >1 g for >2 mth). Sugar intolerance. High doses of vit B6 can inhibit production of breast milk. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Very rarely, hypersensitivity reactions. Peripheral sensory neuropathy upon long-term intake of >50 mg vit B6. GI complaints.
Drug Interactions
Reduced vit B1 efficacy w/ 5-fluorouracil; beverages containing sulphite eg, wine. Diminished vit B1 uptake w/ antacids; alcohol, black tea. Increased vit B1 excretion in the urine w/ certain diuretics eg, furosemide. Reduced effect of L-dopa w/ vit B6. Increased vit B6 requirement w/ pyridoxine antagonists eg, INH, hydralazine, cycloserine, D-penicillamine.
