Indications/Uses
Inflammatory & degenerative forms of rheumatism; RA; ankylosing spondylitis & OA. Non-articular rheumatism, post-traumatic inflammation & swelling. Gouts attacks. Menstrual pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Tab/Cap OA 100-150 mg/day. RA 150-200 mg/day. Ankylosing spondylitis 100-125 mg/day. To be taken in divided doses. Pain or menstrual cramps Adult 50 mg tds as needed. Supp Childn 0.5-2 mg/kg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Inj Adult Usual dose: 50-75 mg IM once daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to aspirin or NSAIDs. GI ulcerations, bleeding & perforation. Liver laboratory tests. Anaphylactoid reactions. Preexisting asthma. Advanced renal disease. Pregnancy.
Adverse Reactions
Abdominal pain or cramps, headache, fluid retention, abdominal distention. GI disturbances, peptic ulcer, dizziness. Hypersensitivity reactions. Cardiac, kidney, liver or blood disorders.
Drug Interactions
Aspirin, anticoagulants, digoxin, methotrexate, cyclosporine, lithium, oral hypoglycemics, diuretics.
