Concise Prescribing Info
Relief of fever & mild to moderate pain eg, menstrual pains (dysmenorrhea) & transient musculoskeletal pain. Pain & mild inflammation in rheumatic conditions, dental pain & pain due to sports injuries.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1-2 tab qds. Max: 12 tab in 24 hr.
Should be taken with food: May be taken w/ food or milk to reduce GI discomfort.
Severe or active peptic ulceration. Severe heart failure; treatment of peri-operative pain in CABG surgery. History of GI bleeding or perforation related to previous NSAIDs therapy; active or history of recurrent peptic ulcer/haemorrhage.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity to salicylates. Gastric ulceration; allergic disorder particularly asthma. Increased risk of serious CV thrombotic event, MI & stroke; GI adverse events eg, bleeding, ulceration & perforation. Should not be used in patients w/ revascularization procedures. Risk of renal papillary necrosis & other renal injury upon long-term administration. Not recommended in patients w/ advanced renal disease. Co-administration w/ diuretics & ACE inhibitors; other NSAIDs. Renal & hepatic impairment. Pregnancy. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
GI discomfort & occasional GI bleeding & nausea. Hypersensitivity reactions eg, asthma, pruritus, urticaria & rashes; headache; vertigo; tinnitus; fluid retention.
Drug Interactions
Reduced effect of antihypertensives. Potentiated effect of lithium & digoxin. Increased risk of nephrotoxicity w/ diuretics. Increased adverse effects w/ acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin. Decreased effect & upon regular, long-term use, may reduce cardioprotective effect of low-dose acetylsalicylic acid/aspirin.
