Indications/Uses
Testosterone replacement therapy for male hypogonadism when testosterone deficiency has been confirmed by clinical signs & biochemical tests.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & elderly men Apply 50 mg once daily in the morning. Max daily dose: 100 mg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Known or suspected prostatic cancer or breast carcinoma.
Special Precautions
Not for treatment of male sterility or impotence. Severe cardiac insufficiency. Ischemic heart disease, HTN, epilepsy & migraine. Exclude prostatic carcinoma prior to treatment. Cancer patients at risk of hypercalcemia & associated hypercalciuria. Monitor prostate, breast, Hb, haematocrit & liver function tests regularly. Severe hepatic or renal insufficiency. Women. Avoid use during pregnancy & lactation. Males <18 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Application site reaction, erythema, acne, dry skin; polycythaemia, headache; prostatic disorders, gynecomastia, mastodynia; dizziness, paresthesia, amnesia, hyperesthesia, mood disorders; HTN; diarrhoea; alopecia.
Drug Interactions
Oral anticoagulants, ACTH or corticosteroids, oxyphenbutazone, insulin. Interactions w/ laboratory tests.

G03BA03 - testosterone ; Belongs to the class of 3-oxoandrosten (4) derivative androgens used in androgenic hormone preparations.
