Mometasone furoate
Indications/Uses
Relief of inflammatory & pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply once daily to affected areas until healing or for 3 wk.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to mometasone furoate & other corticosteroids.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if irritation or sensitization develops or in presence of infection. Not for ophth use. Not to be used w/ occlusive dressing. Visual disturbance. Cushing's syndrome. Not to be used in large amounts or prolonged periods during pregnancy. Lactation. Adrenal suppression in infants & childn. Cream/Oint: Hyperglycemia, glucosuria. Lotion: Growth & development in childn.
Adverse Reactions
Rarely, pruritus & signs of skin atrophy. Oint/Lotion: Burning. Cream: Paresthesia. Oint: Tingling/stinging. Lotion: Folliculities, acneiform reaction.
