Phenylephrine HCl
Indications/Uses
Pupillary dilation in uveitis, refraction w/o cycloplegic. Funduscopy & other diagnostic procedures.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 drop according to purpose of application.
Contraindications
Narrow-angle glaucoma. Infant, elderly w/ severe arteriosclerotic, CV or cerebrovascular disease. During intraocular operative procedures when corneal epithelial barrier is disturbed.
Special Precautions
Caution if administered w/ or up to 3 wk after MAOI therapy. Infant w/ cardiac anomalies.
Adverse Reactions
Marked increase in BP in low-wt neonates, infant & adult w/ idiopathic hypotension. CV reactions in elderly.
Drug Interactions
TCAs, propranolol.
