Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult : PO Hypotensive states 100-150 mg 3 times/day. Ophth Conjunctival decongestant As 0.5% soln: Instill 1-2 drops 3 times/day.
Dosage Details
Conjunctival decongestant
Adult: As 0.5% solution: Instil 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac tid.

Hypotensive states
Adult: 100-150 mg tid.
Narrow-angle glaucoma. Hypertension.
Special Precautions
Hyperthyroidism, coronary insufficiency, heart failure. Infants.
Adverse Reactions
Bradycardia, acute glaucoma.
Drug Interactions
Pressor effects may be potentiated by MAOIs.
Description: Oxedrine is a sympathomimetic agent. It produces peripheral vasoconstriction and increases BP with reflex bradycardia by stimulating α-adrenergic receptors.
