Diflucortolone valerate
Indications/Uses
Skin diseases which respond to topical corticoid therapy.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Apply bd-tds until remission, then once daily.
Contraindications
Tuberculous or syphilitic processes; viral diseases; 1st trimester of pregnancy.
Special Precautions
Avoid contact w/ eyes. Childn <4 yr (max 3 wk treatment). Do not apply to the face if rosacea or perioral dermatitis is present. Additional, specific therapy required in bacterially-infected skin diseases &/or fungus infections.
Adverse Reactions
Application to large body areas or for prolonged period: Skin atrophy; telangiectasia; striae & acneform changes; perioral dermatitis, hypertrichosis, systemic effects; rarely, allergic skin reactions.
