Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult H. pylori eradication in combination w/ antibiotics 1 tab (40 mg) bd in combination w/ amoxicillin, clarithromycin or metronidazole (or tinidazole) bd for 1-2 wk. Treatment of stomach & duodenal ulcer 20-40 mg once daily for 4-8 wk (stomach ulcer) or 2-4 wk (duodenal ulcer). Long-term treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome & associated disease 80 mg daily. Adult & childn ≥12 yr Treatment of reflux oesophagitis 1 tab (20 or 40 mg) once daily for 4-8 wk.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before meals. Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to pantoprazole & proton pump inhibitors.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if hypomagnesemia develops. Moderate or severe hepatic impairment. Reduced vit B12 absorption. Very infrequent cases of subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SCLE). Consider stopping of therapy if lesions occur, especially in sun-exposed areas of the skin & if accompanied by arthralgia. May affect ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <12 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, feeling sick or weak, vomiting, bloating, flatulence, constipation, dry mouth, abdominal pain & discomfort, skin rash, exanthema, eruption, itching, exhaustion, sleep disorders. Long term (≥1 yr) & multiple daily doses may be associated w/ an increased risk of hip, wrist or spine fractures.
Drug Interactions
Ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, erlotinib, warfarin, phenprocoumon, atazanavir, methotrexate.

A02BC02 - pantoprazole ; Belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors. Used in the treatment of peptic ulcer and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
