Indications/Uses
Cognitive & neurological disorders associated w/ acute & sub-acute stroke, or w/ traumatic brain injuries.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 500-2,000 mg/day, depending on the severity of symptoms.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ hypertonia of the parasympathetic.
Special Precautions
May cause asthma especially in patients allergic to acetylsalicylic acid. Contains Ponceau 4-R red colour (E-124), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-217) & methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E-218) which may cause allergic reactions. Rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Very rare: Hallucinations; cephalea, vertigo; arterial HTN/hypotension; dyspnoea; nausea, vomiting, occasional diarrhoea; blush, hives, exanthemas, purpura; shiver, oedema.
Drug Interactions
Potentiated effects of medication containing L-Dopa. Do not administer concomitantly w/ medication containing meclofenoxate.
