Indications/Uses
Reduction of fever in childn; relief of mild to moderate pain ie, toothache or tooth extraction, headache, post-op pain, rheumatic pain in bone & joint, sprain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Relief of pain Adult 2 tsp. Reduction of fever & relief of pain Childn 6-12 yr 2 tsp; 3-7 yr 1 tsp; 1-2 yr ½ tsp. All doses should be taken 3-4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken with food.
Contraindications
Severe & active peptic ulcer; history of hypersensitivity to NSAIDs, patients w/ nasal polyp syndrome or angioedema, patients experiencing asthma, rhinitis or urticaria after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs. 3rd trimester of pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
History of upper GI disease (peptic ulcer), impaired kidney or liver function, heart failure, HTN, other diseases which result in body fluid retention, blood coagulation disorders, asthma, SLE. Childn <1 yr.
Adverse Reactions
GI disturbances including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastric pain; skin rash, bronchospasm, thrombocytopenia. Very rarely, blurred vision & color vision changes.
