Indications/Uses
Involutional syndromes related to aging eg, memory deficit, asthenia, adaptation disorders & disturbed psychomotor reactions. Treatment of chronic alcoholism & addiction as well as post-traumatic syndrome. Treatment of behavioural disturbances in childn. Inj/infusion: Treatment of cerebral infarct.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Cap/Caplet Adult Initially 800 mg 3 times a day. Maintenance: 400 mg 3 times daily. Doses of up to 1.2-4.8 g/day may be administered if necessary. Syr Adult 0.5-1 g 3 times daily. Childn 30-50 mg/kg/day. Inj 1 amp 3 times daily IM/IV. Infusion 1 bottle by IV infusion.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Contraindications
Severe renal disorders.
Special Precautions
Sudden w/drawal may precipitate myoclonic attacks. Renal dysfunction. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hyperkinesia, insomnia, wt gain, somnolence, nervousness, depression, diarrhea, rash, irritability, anxiety, tremor, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, gastralgia, headache, vertigo.
