Dexketoprofen
Indications/Uses
Mild to moderate pain, acute musculoskeletal pain, dysmenorrhea, toothache & post-op pain.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Mild to moderate pain 12.5 mg 4-6 hrly or 25 mg 8 hrly. Post-op pain 25 mg 8 hrly. Max dose: 75 mg.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals, especially for quick relief of acute pain.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. History of asthma, bronchospasm, acute rhinitis or nasal polyp, urticaria or angioneurotic edema, active or suspected gastric ulcer, chronic dyspepsia, gastric bleeding, Chron's disease or ulcerative colitis, severe heart failure, moderate to severe kidney & liver dysfunction, haemorrhagic diathesis, anticoagulant therapy. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
History of allergy, symptoms of GI disease, haematological changes, abnormal liver, kidney or heart function. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, headache, hot flushes, HTN, peptic ulcer, GI bleeding, liver dysfunction, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia.
Drug Interactions
NSAIDs, anticoagulants, lithium, methotrexate, hydantoin, sulfonamide, diuretics, β-blockers, pentoxyphilin, thrombolytics, zidovudine, sulfonylureas, cyclosporin, tacrolimus, probenecid, cardiac glycoside, mifepristone, quinolones.
