Active or quiescent pulmonary TB; fungal or viral airway infections. Pneumonia in patients w/ COPD. Cushing's syndrome, Cushingoid features, adrenal suppression, decreased bone mineral density, cataract, glaucoma, psychomotor hyperactivity, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression or aggression. Periods of stress, severe asthma attack or elective surgery. Transferring from oral steroids. High-dose & prolonged use. Avoid concomitant use w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors eg, ketoconazole, itraconazole or HIV PIs. Hepatic impairment. Pregnancy. Growth retardation in childn & adolescents. Respules: Not indicated for rapid relief of bronchospasm. Not suitable as sole therapy for status asthmaticus or other acute asthma exacerbations. Bacterial airway infections. Not to be used w/ positive pressure delivering systems. Lactation. Turbuhaler: Not intended for rapid relief of acute asthma episodes. Discontinue use if paradoxical bronchospasm occurs. Oral candidiasis; visual disturbances. Severe liver cirrhosis.
