Human anti-D Ig
Indications/Uses
Rh(D) -ve after incompatible transfusion of Rh(D) +ve blood. Prevention of Rh(D) immunisation in Rh(D) -ve women; pregnancy/delivery of Rh(D) +ve baby; abortion/threatened abortion, ectopic pregnancy or hydatiform mole; transplacental haemorrhage.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Antepartum prophylaxis 300 mcg IV/IM inj at 28-30 wk of gestation. Postpartum prophylaxis 300 mcg IV/IM administer as soon as possible w/in 72 hr of delivery. Incompatible transfusions 20 mcg/2 mL transfused Rh(D) +ve blood or 1 mL erythrocyte concentrate. Max dose: 3,000 mcg.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Severe thrombocytopenia or other disorders of haemostasis.
Special Precautions
Discontinue if allergic or anaphylactic type reaction occurs. Not intended for use in Rh(D) +ve individuals. Patients w/ BMI ≥30. Possibility of transmitting infective agents. Newborn infant.
Adverse Reactions
Uncommonly, headache; skin reaction, erythema, pruritus; fever, malaise, chills.
Drug Interactions
Impaired efficacy of live virus vaccines.
